Enjoy, Folks!!!

added missing track & arranged the tracklisting to reflect the original.

here’s some update’s for y’all. two more wonderful samples from the Puscifer show I recorded on the 2nd. Supposedly Puscifer toured with 4 or 5 different stage shows this leg. So everybody got something very different each night, makes sense considering they’d book two-separate nights back-to-back in the same city on most dates of the Tour. I think this night was truly special, a lot of contributing factors lead me to believe this. these are some of my favorite tracks from their ‘Special Hot Sauce’ performance.  Enjoy!

Notes: This was an interesting night for the proverbial Ensphere experience. Despite Dillon’s absence, I was outstandingly impressed by Ensphere’s performance as I was with this evenings proceeding acts, things finally kicked off with 7:30pm’s frigidity cold air for the 1st Band of the night, Scarless. Straight out of the mean streets of Albuquerque, NM these guy’s & GALS will kick BOTH of your ear’s asses, they opened with a hip-hop sample that led into a scorching blaze of two guitars, bass, drums & screaming a thrashing mixture of Hardcore & modern Punk. I don’t think I’ve ever even heard that kind of music being pulled-off that well before. Then they continued with a setlist that deceived my expectations that I was left with after the last notes of their opening tune. Great Band with even Greater Musicians, their Female Guitarist was awe-inspiring I literally had to stop what I was doing to regard her/their performance 100%. Proceeding Bands Broken-End Stereo & AV were less impressive in my opinion, lets just say Broken-End had a pretentious & very very cliche lead singer type & we’ll leave it at that. AV was alright & had their moments or maybe they were just Ok? Nonetheless this entire evening was an experience well-worth the $10 it cost for tickets to get into & be apart of the NEWEST in exclusive UNDERGROUND Rock Show/Dance Parties for the Tucson, Arizona area. Stands With Fists was the last Band to go on before Ensphere & was the only other band I had any brimming anticipation for, watching them set-up their stage theatrics brought me back to recollections of one of Ensphere’s earliest performances. It was an Art festival out by Oracle, AZ known as the ‘Glow’ festival, Ensphere preformed there in ‘04 maybe it was in ‘05? I can’t recall exactly but nevertheless SWF wouldn’t have had the slightest bit of reference as to the elements that visually transpired at that festival. I guess that’s just the universes way of bring it’s synchronicity right where it belongs, together…  Tucson has always been renown for it’s UNDERGROUND artistic communities more or less the world over. Fine Art Gallery’s like Solar Culture & related establishments along with Troupes like ‘Flam Chen’ & events such as the World Famous ‘All Souls Procession’ for instance are the exact kinds of internally creative elements that make Tucson such a unique corner of the continental United States, unlike any other. It’s music scene however has had it’s History(s), things have come & gone. Today we have hope with Bands like Ensphere & Stands With Fists locally, the 2009 12.12 show has proven that without a shadow of a doubt. It is my opinion that Ensphere and now with these show’s/parties hosted by Ensphere’s sole creator Randall Swindell we’ll be privileged to witness & acknowledge the Loving & Creative forces that dwell within us all to come fully alive at these events. The very 1st one was hosted on August 1st of 2009, which was a success & yielded the Band a healthy profit for the nominal fee’s. Instead of relying on the same old tactic’s of a shoty, useless “concert promoter”, indubitably Ensphere has succeeded in surviving without that precedent. These guy’s have always had a do-it-yourself mentality, their dedication & investment in doing what they Love and what they want to do for a living has more than just worked-out for them, it’s become an efficient tool to engage, entertain & captivate people not only Musically but Theatrically as well. With all the tribulation that has struck upon the Ensphere force field, considering the reasons behind the delay’s of their Video EP was due to a fall-out with the Audio/Video “company” (I use that term VERY loosely) combined with the recent helpless departure of Dillon McCallum (a Brother & Backbone of Ensphere) it was looking very grim & gloomy at the moment. Yet once again they persevered & proved most if not ALL their crew, confidants & closest followers wrong in thinking they couldn’t pull off another successful let alone an even BIGGER shindig that had proceeded two-months previously. I’m glad everything has turned out the way it did and I really hope anyone reading this or listening to this recording knows & recognizes how much hard work went to it’s creation (not the recording itself, but it’s contents).

I personally would like to thank you, the Band & the Fans!!

Notes: This was the 1st night of the Ensphere weekend extravaganza! What a perfect place for them to do it. This is one of the only other popular Tucson area venues these guy’s have NOT played at yet. Plush is also known as one of Tucson’s 4th Avenue posh “hot spots”. A bar/venue it’s been compared to Los Angeles’s  ‘Viper Room’ by Ensphere Front Man Randall Swindell. Some may argue that Club Congress across the street from the Historic Rialto Theatre on Congress St. (go figure) would be considered Tucson & maybe even all of Arizona’s own ‘Viper Room’. But their “stage” if you could even call it that & their venue area is a lot less like an actual venue & feels way more like a bar/lounge (after all it is a Hotel). Whereas Plush has a more friendly Live Music atmosphere much like the Viper Room. This was Ensphere’s first public performance w/o one of their biggest & greatest contributors, Dillon McCallum. Guitarist & multi-media man Dillon had left Ensphere three weeks previous to the announcement of this date. Due to his departure & seeming hiatus the rest of the group had to scramble to to re-learn & re-work some of their most noted songs. Introducing a close associate is ‘Mars’ who assumed bass duties on ‘Hyleg’ & ‘Premonition’. I couldn’t be more satisfied considering the challenges faced. Although Ensphere has always maintained a sort of revolving door of Instrument exchanges within it’s members, having Dillon absent really makes things a challenge w/o him… =(

UNDERTAKER V2

Live 2009 12.02 @ the Rialto Theatre In Tucson, AZ

This was a stunning performance by MJ Keenan & the rest of his Puscifer crew. I was absolutely floored by this particular song & the way they performed it.

this version of Undertaker hasn’t ever been released publicly before, Maynard Screams like a motherfucker on this cut!! in fact MOST if NOT ALL of the Puscifer show here in Tucson isn’t publically avaible, especially in this quality. it certainly isn’t the best, but I have yet to see anything to surface that would be comparble. also it is my opinion that this performance from Puscifer this night in particular is hands down BETTER than ANYTHING T00L has done in recent years. a fuller & more complete review will come when I release the FULL version of ‘Puscifer – Special Hot Sauce [Alive At the Rialto Theatre In Tucson, AZ]‘…

Enjoy This Poon-Tangy dish of ‘Undertaker’!

this is a some-what/semi-official CD release by S-Records from Massive Attack known as the ‘Electronic Collection’ is keenly compiled collective of various MA recordings spanning from the day’s of Andrew “Mushroom” Vowels (former Massive Attacker/Producer) w/ cuts from ‘Blue Lines’ their debut album release all the way through Protection & Mezzanine. ‘Electronic Collection’ came five years before the very successful & appropriately MASSIVE 3-Disc, 2-CD & 1-DVD ‘Collected’ release a Best-Of that afforded the group subsequently in 2007 (Neil Davidage & Robert “3D” del Naja) the time to work (under the guise of 100 Suns as to differentiate their Soundtrack scoring from their name & official work as Massive Attack) on scoring three brilliant films, In Prison My Whole Life, Battle in Seattle & Trouble the Water, also they did a wonderful end-title-credits instrumental theme to another great independent film ‘Gomorra’ which Robert received the Italian version of an Oscar award for Best song.

After months, if not years of Internet speculation and rumor, the man many call The God MC’s management and label officially confirm that Rakim Allah will release his long awaited new album The Seventh Seal on November 17, 2009.

Guest artists include Busta Rhymes, Jadakiss, Maino, Tracey Horton, IQ, Styles P, and others, including Destiny Griffin, Rakim’s own daughter. The artist’s Ra Records shares the imprint in a joint venture with Tuscan Villa and SMC Recordings and is distributed through Fontana/Universal Music Group. He has enlisted a slew of production talent including Needlz, Nottz, Jake One, Nick Wiz, Ty Fiffe and more on the album’s well-rounded tracks.

“The Seventh Seal is my own revelation…my way of taking the best of what Hip-Hop has to offer, what we as a culture and a community have to offer, putting my stamp on it and leading us forward while constantly respecting what we’ve already accomplished,” Rakim says. “When you’ve been blessed with a career like mine, you develop a deep relationship with the music, and that love is recognized by the true heads that share it with you. You’ll see us keep building as we break through each Seal … showing the best of what I can do in many forms, bringing the energy and having fun, but first I’m laying that foundation and give my longtime fans the conscious fire they expect.”

September 24, 2009 (New York, NY) –After months, if not years of Internet speculation and rumor, the man many call The God MC’s management and label officially confirm that Rakim Allah will release his long awaited new album The Seventh Seal on November 17, 2009.

Since its release, the album’s lead single “Holy Are You” has won praise from critics and fans alike. USA Today states, “The God MC previews his long-awaited The Seventh Seal with a lyrically adept reminder of how he earned the name,” with Billboard proclaiming “Rakim is in top form, richly merging self-mythologizing reflections on his legacy with religious imagery.”

His first full album of new material in almost a decade, The Seventh Seal is Rakim’s contemporary observation of the Hip-Hop culture he helped define. While staying loyal to his New York roots, Rakim has created a body of work that encompasses the very best of regional, underground and mainstream styles that are reformed and delivered through his intricate lyricism and the seemingly effortless flow for which he is revered. He has enlisted a slew of production talent including Needlz, Nottz, Jake One, Nick Wiz, Ty Fiffe and more on the album’s well-rounded tracks.
