so here it is 10/20/10…. LOST!
Dawaun Parker (Aftermath Music Super-Producer) has lurked in the shadows of Dr. Dre since the grand debut of 50 Cent’s unprecedented main-stream Hip-Hop staple “Get Rich or Die Tryin’”. He has since gone on to produce & co-produce tracks for other Mega-Hip-Hip icon’s of today such as Jay-Z, Busta Rhymes & Eminem. He helped co-produce most of Eminem’s most recent come-back hit album ‘Relapse’ which helped lift Slim Shady from the depth’s of his hellish addiction to pain medication & the most unfortunate set-back of his close friend DeShaun “Proof” Holton’s untimely death. With epic monster beats from ‘Relapse’ such as “My Mom”, “Same Song & Dance” & “Stay Wide Awake” really showcase his dynamic skill as an intricate keyboard player. It’s my opinion & objective guess that ‘Relapse’ was a sort of Instrumental prelude to what one might expect from Dr. Dre’s forth coming LP “Detox”, w/ brooding other-worldly keyboard driven tracks like “Insane”, “Must Be The Ganja”, “Underground” & again “Stay Wide-Awake” very well could have been Dr. Dre solo tracks for ‘Detox’ possibly… So here we are almost two years later w/ Parker’s debut single ‘Lost’ a slightly funky yet very soulful track that has a familiar intoxicating club-like Dr. Dre vibe to it as well as a seeming crosser-over type of appeal from the hook that should get a lot of universal air play over the next few month’s. I actually wouldn’t be surprised if this track started churning up some buzz on other Music blogs that are not strictly Hip-Hop based or related like they are NOW. after all the almighty Dr. Dre dynamic has bless & graced the track himself!
so let’s hope this blows up for dude, maybe if this gets enough attention it might hurry DP to drop the rest of ‘The Decision’ E.P. perhaps earlier than a month deep in to the new year which is when we should expect ‘The Decision’ to drop.
